A Wintech Door in Dark Oak for a House in Petrodolynske: Matching a Window That Was Already There
Svitlana called us with a fixed requirement: the door had to be Wintech profile, and it had to be dark oak. Her house in the village of Petrodolynske, Odesa region, already had a Wintech window with a shaped glazing bead, and the new interior door, from the kitchen into the bathroom, had to look like part of the same set. Other companies, she said, struggled to find that combination. The client’s job: “make it look the same”
At the survey on 20 August our measurer wrote a short note on the form: “The client already has a Wintech window with a shaped bead. Make the opening so it looks roughly the same.” That was the real requirement. Not “a warm door”, not “cheaper” — a visual match.
Three things followed from that, and none of them could be done by eye:
- The same profile. Wintech next to Wintech gives the same frame geometry, the same visible width and a similar bead. Put a different profile in the same colour next to it and the difference in shape still shows.
- The same foil shade. “Dark oak” from different lamination makers is not one colour. We used 23L-2 foil on a RAL 8019 base, laminated on both sides, because the door is seen from the kitchen and from the bathroom.
- About the same division height. The solid lower panel is 800 mm high, glass above. That keeps the transom line calm next to the window.
The door opens towards you when viewed from the kitchen. That is on the form too: in a small house the opening direction decides whether the door hits the furniture.

Why frosted glass, not clear
It is a bathroom door. Clear glass was never an option, and tinted glass in a dark frame makes a hallway gloomy. Sandblasted glass lets light through but hides silhouettes. The order says exactly that: “single-chamber + frosted”.
Why reinforce an interior door and add a third hinge
People often ask: “It’s not an entrance door, why reinforce it?” Weight and use. A bathroom door is opened dozens of times a day. A sash with glass and a sandwich panel is heavy, and a laminated profile heats up more than a white one in the sun or next to a cooker.
“A PVC door has two weak spots: a sagging sash and loose hinges. A 1.4 mm U-shaped steel insert in the sash holds its shape, and a third hinge takes load off the top one. I wouldn’t save money here — fixing it later costs more.” — Serhii Rudyi, technologist at VIKNODIM.
The low threshold: an honest trade-off
A high threshold seals smell and heat better, but people trip over it. For an interior door in a private house Svitlana chose a low aluminium threshold — easy to step over, and the sash gasket still seals. The door was fitted against the reveal inside the room, to the existing wooden floor and sill.
What the Wintech dark oak door cost
The product price on order OD.1599-48213 was UAH 12,930 (August 2026). That includes a 36% discount and everything in the table: sandblasted glass, sandwich panel, third hinge, bathroom lock and reinforcement. Installation, delivery to Petrodolynske and removal of the old door are quoted separately by the manager after the visit.
What moves the price most:
- Lamination on both sides versus one — a noticeable difference.
- Infill: glass plus sandwich costs less than full-height laminated glass.
- Hardware: Vorne is solid mid-range Turkish hardware; there are dearer and cheaper options.

That last line matters to us. Dark oak foil looks different in a catalogue and on a wall, so we bring lamination samples to the survey — it is easier to compare right next to the window.

Can an interior PVC door be made to match existing windows?
Yes. Best is the same profile and the same foil. We check the marking on the existing window or compare lamination samples on site. In Petrodolynske that is how we matched a Wintech door to a Wintech window in dark oak.
How much does a Wintech PVC door in dark oak cost?
