Windows and doors in Odesa will get more expensive from September: an installer explains why to order in summer

Every year it’s the same picture. In May-June, windows and doors cost reasonable money, installers arrive at a convenient time, and manufacturing takes a week and a half. And then September comes — and everything changes: queues at production, crews booked for a month in advance, and the price list grows following the demand. According to market participants’ estimates, 2026 may turn out to be tougher than usual: two factors that previously did not exist on such a scale are added to the seasonal hype — a lack of electricity in production and a shortage of qualified installers due to mobilization.

How prices behave throughout the year

The dynamics are simple and predictable: the closer to the cold weather, the higher the price and the longer the queue. Below is an approximate picture of the glazing market in Odessa and the region over the past seasons.

Month Market demand Price change compared to spring level*
May – June Basic 0% (starting level)
July Moderate growth +3–5%
August Demand activation +5–8%
September Peak season +10–15%
October Peak season, shortage of installation slots +12–18%
November Hype before the cold +15–20%

* Approximate values based on observations of the market over the past seasons. The final price always depends on the profile, configuration, and order volume.

Why this year will be harder than usual

In addition to the usual seasonal surge in demand, the glazing market in 2026 is pressured by two additional factors.

  • Electricity shortage. Production lines for profiles and double-glazed windows depend on a stable power supply. Scheduled and unscheduled outages reduce the daily output at partner factories, which means they increase the waiting time for the finished product.
  • Shortage of installers. Some experienced crews have been mobilized, and training new installers takes time. During the peak season, the installation queue stretches out on its own, and here there is also a physical shortage of hands for objects — from an apartment in a new building to a balcony in a private house near Odessa.

Separately, each of these factors would already complicate the season. Together they form a completely different picture of deadlines.

The e-Vidnovlennya factor: delayed demand that will shoot up soon

There is another reason why the autumn load on the market may be higher than usual. According to the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine, more than 143 thousand families have already received compensation under the e-Vidnovlennya program for a total amount of over 48.5 billion UAH. A significant part of these families are residents of the Odessa, Mykolaiv, and Kherson regions. But getting money into an account is not the same as immediately going and ordering windows.

In practice, many compensation recipients are in no hurry to order: some are waiting until the amount for the entire volume of work is collected, some postpone the decision until autumn “for later”, some are still deciding on the profile and contractor. As a result, delayed demand is formed — a large volume of applications from Tairove, Cheromushky, Kotovskyi settlement, Fontan, and other areas, which will sooner or later hit the market in one stream, most likely exactly in September-October, when homeowners realize the cold is coming.

For the market, this means the overlap of three waves of demand simultaneously: usual seasonal growth, shortage of production and installation capacities — and delayed orders under e-Vidnovlennya.

Production times: today and in the peak season

The difference between an order in July and an order in October is not a couple of days. Here is what the real deadlines look like at different stages of the season.

Period Production and installation time Main reason
Now (July 2026) 5–7 working days Free production lines, installers are available
Usual peak season (September–November, average year) 4–5 weeks Simultaneous influx of orders throughout the Odessa region
Peak season 2026 (forecast) up to 6 weeks Plus power outages in production
Peak season 2026, with a shortage of installers up to 1.5 months Plus mobilization of some installation crews

That is, an order that is closed in a week today can stretch six to eight times in waiting time during the peak season.

What the installation master says

Illya Kapryshanskyi, an installation master at the Odessa company OKNODOM, has been working in the glazing market for years and observes this dynamics every season.

“We see this every year at sites in Odessa, Chornomorsk, Karolino-Buhaz, and throughout the region,” says Illya Kapryshanskyi. “Clients who order balcony glazing, replacement of windows and entrance doors in July-August, be it an apartment in Sovinyon, a house in Velykodolynske, or a balcony in Avanhard, get a finished installation without rushing, with a free choice of date and without surprises in price. The classic mistake is to wait until it gets cooler and then deal with the windows. By this time, the installation queue is already booked for several weeks in advance, and the price has managed to rise by 10-20%.”

Why someone promises installation in three days even at the height of the season

Periodically, there are offers on the market to install windows “in 2-3 days” even in October-November. Experts advise paying attention to how this is achieved:

  • the company works without its own production and simply resells finished products from the supplier’s warehouse — the choice of configurations and profiles is highly limited in this case;
  • the installation date is named without a real guarantee and may shift in fact;
  • the order is transferred to a third-party contractor-installer who is not responsible for the quality of production.

This does not mean that such offers are necessarily bad — sometimes this is a justified option. But with a real shortage of capacities in the season, fast installation almost always means one of the compromises above.

Bottom line

If you analyze the market of recent years, the picture becomes obvious: postponing an order to September almost never leads to savings. On the contrary, most often this means both an increase in cost, an increase in production time, and a limited choice of installation dates at the same time. Therefore, experts recommend planning the replacement of windows exactly in the summer — while production and installation capacities are not yet working at their limit. To date, according to Illya Kapryshanskyi, the production and installation time at the OKNODOM company is 5-7 working days, crews are free, and the price is fixed at the time of placing the order.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will windows become more expensive already in August?

A small growth is possible already in August against the background of growing demand, but the main jump in price occurs in September-November, when the installation queue becomes longer.

When does the peak season start?

Traditionally — from September to November, when homeowners are massively preparing for the heating season.

Is it possible to fix the price in advance?

Yes, when placing an order now, the price is fixed at the time of signing the contract and does not change due to subsequent seasonal growth.

How long is the real wait for production and installation now?

To date — 5-7 working days. At the peak of the season, this period usually stretches to 4-5 weeks, and in 2026, taking into account the shortage of electricity and installers, it can reach a month and a half.

Is it possible to use the e-Vidnovlennya compensation right now?

Yes, if the application is approved and the funds are credited to the e-Vidnovlennya card, you can place an order at any time.
